Simply superb
My friend and I booked dinner prior to a show we were attending recently in Aberdeen. The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table where our waiting staff were superb and extremely efficient. The food was amazing (as always) and they even booked a taxi for us for our onward travel to the show. I only wish I stayed locally and would therefore be able to frequent the restaurant on a regular basis. I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant and, had there been twin rooms available, we would have stayed there as well. Family meal
Yet another excellent meal in a friendly environment with friendly efficient staff. Have eaten here several times now and never had anything other than great food and services. Can't comment on the rooms, just on the restaurant. We had a party of 14 for Sunday Lunch recently and all left well fed. Portion sizes were generous (apart from the skirlie) and food was piping hot and tasty. Lovely attentive staff.

Food is Fantastic !

Amazing lunch
Went for lunch on Friday with a work colleague and had an excellent meal, we both had the Beef Stir Fry which was on the specials menu and to be honest it was the finest stir fry we both have had - it would be great if Dunavon made this part of their normal menu - Highly recommend visiting their restaurant, the food is always great

Was only in for the restaurant so cant rate the hotel. An excellent meal in a bright airy room at the back of the hotel, service was really good from all staff and the food was presented beautifully and was very tasty , I had the sausage roll and then the chilli and then the pecan pie with raspberry ice cream but honestly could have had more than 3 or 4 options of all courses as there is a good size of menu ,will definitely be back

Delicious Food

Had a lovely meal there last night with a friend. Menu was very good with a special selection as well. Local Aberdeen restaurant beats large chain hands down
There were a number of us staying in Aberdeen at a nearby large chain hotel for the week on business. It had been a tough time for the area after a period of cold weather and significant snowfall. We travel a fair bit and had felt let down by the choice and quality where we were staying and luckily a colleague recommended having dinner at The Dunavon. It was only a 5 minute drive, and we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. It was quiet, but it was January and there was a nice atmosphere. Despite the inclement weather the menu choices hadn't been affected. The menu catered for all dietary requirements and tastes and made choosing difficult. The food was hot, tasty and not one of the group had any issues with their food, in fact quite the opposite they all praised the quality of their food. I had the Balmoral Wellington to start and the pie for mains. When I ordered I didn't consider I was going double pastry but no regrets. The value for money compared to where we were staying was very good and the quality of the food was so much better. I have recommended them to the rest of my team and the wider company.

A Must Dining Adventure
As seven business colleagues were enjoyed the most fantastic meal at the Dunavon. I had pleasure eating Creamed Mushrooms on Sourdough Toast, Fish Pue and Apple, Pear and Bkackberry Crumble with Custard. The food was incredible, generous, fresh and piping hot. Well done!! Fantastic Festive Lunch
We visited The Dunavon for a team Christmas lunch (pre-ordered) and were thoroughly impressed. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfectly organised. Our drinks order was taken promptly, and the food followed shortly after. The service was faultless - friendly, efficient, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was served hot, and tasted delicious. A wonderful festive experience that we would highly recommend to anyone looking for a stress-free and enjoyable meal. Although I didn’t stay in this hotel, I can certainly recommend the restaurant and bar area! It’s so much bigger than you’d imagine with very friendly staff. The food menu is extensive and the prices are brilliant. From dining tables to some sofas by a fireplace it’s got a cosy vibe and everywhere is modern and clean. We had my Mum’s 80th birthday there. The table was set out so everybody would be comfortable  They were well organised and the staff were very attentive, making sure everything was ok  from checking that everyone had enough drinks to presenting the cake to my mum. The food was great and everybody thoroughly enjoyed it. There was lots of choice for every dietary needs. We all had a great night one my Mum won’t forget in a hurry. Not a single thing to pick fault with here. The venue was spotlessly clean, welcoming and tastefully decorated. The staff were friendly, attentive and professional and the food was excellent, both in terms of choice and taste. The cost was also reasonable. Good Food and a Warm Welcome
Great food and friendly staff. We visited for an evening meal while staying nearby for the night prior to flying from Aberdeen. The menu offers a good range of choice in addition to specials. The food is freshly and thoughtfully prepared. The duck salad and tempura prawn and calamari starters were great. Excellent value. Fantastic Bubbles, Bed and Breakfast Deal
We purchased the Bubbles, Bed and Breakfast deal a couple months back at a very good price of £120 per couple which also included £50 towards our evening meal. It was absolutely brilliant! We arrived at 1 pm for early check in, got a glass of prosecco and q mezze board on arrival which was also part of the deal. I cannot praise the staff highly enough. They were young, polite, friendly, attentive and absolutely helped make our day/ evening so enjoyable! The meal was absolutely delicious, the cocktails first class, the room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was lovely. Service and food was first class
We visited this restaurant for a family meal on a Tuesday evening. We arrived early, but that wasn’t a problem, the lovely girl showed us to our table and offered us water for the table straight away. From then on the service was first class with every course being checked upon. The menu is, what I would say, perfect, with nothing on the menu I wouldn’t be happy to have. I opted for one of the specials, the sea bass with black bean sauce, noodles and stir fry veg with prawn crackers. It was delicious. My brother said it was the best carbonara he’s ever had. The house white wine was delicious (Romanian) the service excellent and the food hit the spot, free parking, nice cutlery and proper napkins also kept me happy! School group reunion.
Our group of thirty, in Aberdeen for a school reunion, thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at The Dunavon. Stuart and his team smoothed all aspects of organising our stay and even customised our Saturday evening dinner options to include dishes familiar to us at school – The Dunavon’s cooking is a real strength. Stuart’s warm welcome and hospitable approach throughout together with his team’s meticulous attention to setting up the conservatory and tables for our group’s exclusive use for our dinners and after-dinner entertainments were much appreciated. Our group members all found their rooms clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel – our group’s 2026 reunion weekend is already provisionally booked! Had a few days away and stayed in Dyce, popped into the Dunavon for dinner and drinks, 5 star service, the bar staff, the waiting staff and facilities were superb, they were all so helpful and friendly. I would recommend anyone to go and check it out and the food was 10/10.
